These ecological houses are designed to withstand heavy flooding
An unusual home apart from the experience of life on the water, is filled with a whole host of ecological systems thanks to which it can be called a green oasis. And when it's over, this building turns into a real little bunker on the water.
The project of a house that is powered by energy through solar panels was done by architect Koen Olthuis from Waterstudio , in cooperation with Arkup . This house that offers the possibility of " avant-garde water on the water" , which is the motto of the Miami company, is actually a floating waste management facility, collects rainwater, but also purifies water and returns it to the system. However, its strongest accent is that it is resistant to impacts of hurricanes and large floods as a result of weather disasters.
Two electric thrusters of 136 horses can move the object at a speed of seven knots
Floating house of 404 square meters is supplied with energy through solar panels of 30 kW, and energy is saved thanks to extremely efficient insulation, writes Inhabitat .
Long legs to wake
The extraordinary feature of this house is the security it achieves thanks to a self-cooling system that protects the facility from great winds, floods and hurricanes. Namely, hydraulic feet of 12 meters high can stabilize the floating house or even rise above the water level.

If you want to change the location of the house or simply to escape the announced storm, using two electric thrusters with 136 horsepower, the object can be moved at a speed of seven knots .
Full autonomy
The rainwater collected from the roof is stored in a tank, where it is purified, thus allowing full autonomy of the facility in terms of water supply .
Bunker on the water
The sliding terrace of 7.3 × 3.7 meters, enclosed with glass-resistant impact panels , provides plenty of integrated outdoor space.

Judgment Day on Water
Price is unfortunately not known, but we do not think it will be small because it is a floating 400 square meter floor which is equipped with very sophisticated equipment. Will there be customers? Of course! If you've watched the Doomsday Preppers series at National Geography you know what we're talking about ...
